Memorial park for former WW2 RAAF Flying Boat base, Catalina Bay, Rathmines, Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
At its peak, over 3,000 men and women served at the base, which comprised 230 buildings and marine facilities. Forty aircraft were in service and over 200 aircrews trained there.
Rathmines ceased operations as a Flying Boat base in 1952 as flying boats were withdrawn from service.
